Jorge Quiroga is a former president of Bolivia and president of FUNDEMOS, a Bolivian public policy think tank.
Originally elected vice president in 1997, Quiroga served as President from 2001 to 2002. He was the youngest person to have ever held the office. He has also served as the minister of finance and undersecretary of public investment and international cooperation at the Ministry of Planning. Since leaving office, Quiroga has been a primary leader in the Bolivian opposition and ran for the presidency on his own right in 2005 and 2014. He was a candidate for the 2020 presidential elections.
He received his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering summa cum laude from Texas A&M University and his MBA from St. Edward’s University. He was the recipient of the World Leader of Tomorrow Award from the World Economic Forum and he has served as governor for the World Bank, Andean Development Corporation, International Finance Corporation, and the International Monetary Fund.
Quiroga joined the Dialogue as a Member in 2002.
