Michelle Nunn was president and CEO of CARE USA, a leading humanitarian organization that fights global poverty. Nunn joined CARE USA in 2015, after an accomplished career in civic and public service. She founded the volunteer-mobilization organization, Hands On Atlanta, and helped oversee the group’s merger with Points of Light, a group founded by President George H. W. Bush to promote volunteerism. Nunn served as the CEO of Points of Light from 2007 to 2013. With CARE, Nunn has sought to leverage the skills and concerns of women leaders in the Atlanta area to produce a “greater global constellation” that would look at the requirements of women and children around the world who are in situations of extreme crisis.
Nunn has also focused on the response to the Syrian refugee crisis, traveling to the Azraq refugee camp in Jordan as well as to sites in Turkey. She has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Fast Company Social Capitalist Award. The NonProfit Times named Nunn seven times to its annual “Power and Influence top 50” list and the Anti-Defamation League awarded her its 2005 Torch of Liberty.
Nunn joined the Dialogue as a Member in 2018.
