Donna Hrinak served as US ambassador to Brazil (2002-2004), Venezuela (2000-2002), Bolivia (1997-2000), and the Dominican Republic (1994-1997), as well as deputy assistant secretary of state for inter-American affairs (1991-1993). She is the former senior vice president of corporate affairs at the Royal Caribbean Group. Prior to joining Royal Caribbean, she was president of Boeing Brazil, Boeing Latin America, and Boeing Canada. She was also vice president of global public policy and government affairs at PepsiCo and corporate affairs director for Latin America and the European Union at Kraft Foods. 

Hrinak’s awards include the Order of Barão do Rio Branco from the government of Brazil and the Order of Merit of Duarte, Sánchez, and Mella from the government of the Dominican Republic. The US State Department has recognized her with its prestigious Career Achievement Award and the US Coast Guard has named her a recipient of its Distinguished Public Servant Award.

Hrinak serves on the boards of Inter-American Dialogue and Adtalem Global Education. She is also a member of the International Women’s Forum (IWF) and of the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT). She writes and speaks frequently on foreign policy and gender issues.

Hrinak is a graduate of Michigan State University and the University of Notre Dame Law School. She writes and speaks frequently on foreign policy and gender issues.

Hrinak joined the Dialogue as a Member in 2005. She currently serves as the Co-Vice Chair on the Dialogue’s Board of Directors.
