Luiz Fernando Furlan is the president of Brasil Foods and an honorary adviser to the Foundation of Amazon Sustainability. Furlan also served as minister of development, industry, and foreign trade of Brazil from 2003 to 2007 and is a member of the boards of AGCO Corporation, BRF S.A., Telefónica S.A. (Spain), and Telefônica Brasil S.A. (Brazil), as well as a member of the advisory boards of Panasonic and ABERTIS Infraestructuras S.A.
He also serves as a member of the Global Ocean Commission, sits on the Superior Council of Management in public health of the São Paulo State, and is a member of several institutions such as the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-India, the British Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Brazil, the Italian-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, and the Brazil-China Business Council.
Previously, Mr. Furlan was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sadia S.A., one of Brazil’s largest food processing companies, Co-Chairman of the board of BRF S.A., and served on the boards of corporations such as Redecard and AMIL Participações S.A. He also served in institutions such as the Brazilian Chicken Exporters Association, Vegetable Oil Industries Association, Brazilian Association of Public Owned Companies and FIESP – Federation of Industries of São Paulo.
Furlan joined the Dialogue as a Member in 2007.
